- Projects already funded by the Cultural Industry Organization Project Grant Stream of the Alberta Media Fund.
- Projects already funded by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
Eligible expenses
- Eligible production expenditures purchased and consumed in Alberta.
- Travel within Alberta, with limited out-of-province air travel for essential Alberta crew.
- Insurance costs prorated to Alberta production days.
- Reasonable producer fees in eligible head-of-department roles, within program limits.
- Related party transactions at exchange amount, up to fair value.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- In-kind contributions.
- Deferrals, except producer fee deferrals.
- Capital items.
- Expenses directly tied to live performances, awards shows, or sporting events.
- Purchases or services not consumed in Alberta, unless specifically approved.

- Applications are reviewed for completeness first.
- Complete applications are screened for eligibility.
- Eligible applications are scored against economic and cultural criteria.
- Program staff make recommendations to the Minister, who makes the final decision.
