  • Companies that do not have their head office or an establishment in Quebec.
  • Organizations listed in the Register of Enterprises Ineligible for Public Contracts (RENA).
  • Entities without an active school bus transportation contract (for school bus service providers).

Eligible expenses

  • Purchase of a new, fully electric school bus of type "A", "C" or "D", including all fees and applicable taxes directly related to the acquisition.

  • Organizations with their head office or an establishment in Quebec.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Submission of Application
    • Complete and sign the financial assistance application form for the purchase of an electric school bus.
    • Complete and sign the transfer of financial assistance application form.
    • Attach a copy of the purchase order for the electric school bus, which must be non-cancellable except in cases of force majeure and accepted and signed by both parties.
    • If the applicant is an organization, include an internal regulation or board resolution authorizing the signatory to submit the application and sign the purchase order.
    • If applicable, provide a copy of the contract between the applicant (purchaser) and the school service centre or private educational institution.
    • If the applicant is a long-term rental service provider, include a copy of the lease agreement with the transport company specifying the term, and, if applicable, a copy of the contract between the transport company and the school service centre or private institution.
    • Submit all required documents to the following email address: daie-individuentreprise@transports.gouv.qc.ca before the application deadline (March 31, 2028).
  • Step 2: Vehicle Delivery and Documentation
    • The manufacturer or distributor delivers the electric school bus as per the purchase agreement.
    • The manufacturer or distributor provides documentation demonstrating transaction completion and vehicle commissioning in Quebec.
    • The required supporting documents must be submitted before the end of the fiscal year indicated on the purchase order or no later than 12 months after submitting the financial assistance application.
    • Provide the following supporting documents:
      • Copy of the attestation of transaction with a dealer (ATAC) issued by the manufacturer or distributor.
      • Copy of the detailed invoice, indicating the financial assistance amount subtracted from the total cost (including all taxes and fees).
      • Description of the new vehicle prepared by the manufacturer.
      • Proof of payment.
      • Copy of the duly signed registration certificate or temporary registration provided by the SAAQ.
  • Step 3: Reporting and Acknowledgment
    • Comply with the general provisions and reporting requirements as described in the program's terms of application.
    • Make public acknowledgment of the Government of Quebec's financial support in all related communications, according to the program’s visibility protocol.

Processing and Agreement

  • Application eligibility is reviewed after submission.
  • The ministry confirms the maximum funding amount once eligibility is verified.
  • The vehicle must be delivered and supporting documents submitted before reimbursement.
  • The financial assistance is paid after document review and the beneficiary’s commitment is signed.

Additional information

  • The beneficiary must publicly acknowledge the financial support from the Government of Quebec in all communications related to the program.
