Who is eligible?
- Registered charities or incorporated nonprofit organizations.
- Canadian universities or colleges.
- Indigenous organizations.
- Unincorporated organizations, committees, or associations with a signed letter of commitment from an eligible payee.

How to apply
- Register for an account in the Grant Portal.
- Activate your account, set your password, and review and update your information in the portal.
- Submit applications through our new Grant Portal by 5 p.m. EST on September 10, 2026.
Processing and Agreement
- The individual who completes the application on behalf of their organization is considered the primary contact for that application or grant.
- The primary contact receives all correspondence about the application, and each grant application and corresponding grant documentation will only be accessible through the account of the primary contact who submitted the application.
- The Grant Portal will be the resource for applicants and grant managers to view grant agreements, reports, and payment timelines, and submit reports.

To be eligible for the Responsive program, you must:
Registered charities, incorporated nonprofit organizations, Canadian universities or colleges, and Indigenous organizations may apply.
Unincorporated organizations, committees, or associations may also apply if they possess a signed letter of commitment from an eligible payee.
Seed grant projects must have been operating for less than 2 years at the time of application, while Grow grant projects must have been operating for 2 or more years at the time of application.
