Activities funded

  • Circulation of emerging artists outside the Quebec region, with several paid concert dates over a 3-month period
  • Professional diffusion initiatives for emerging artists in the city of Quebec, in professional conditions
  • Perfectionnement activities such as workshops, master classes, seminars, training, mentoring, and laboratory or preproduction projects of up to 3 days
  • Production of a professional master recording, including EPs, albums, tracks, and short recordings
  • Promotion and development projects such as album or EP launches, video production, websites, photos, graphic design, digital promotion, radio tracking, and press relations

Who is eligible?

  • Artists, diffusers and producers
  • Non-profit organizations, legally constituted businesses, partnerships and individuals

Eligible expenses

  • Circulation: transport of material, when the project requires it
  • Perfectionnement: registration fees, fees for mentors or specialists, travel, lodging, and subsistence, and project realization costs
  • Production sonore: studio fees and collaborator fees
  • Promotion et développement: rental fees, promotion costs, professional services, and manufacturing costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • In Circulation, projects already supported by SODEC, CALQ, CAC or Musicaction are excluded.
  • Projects already realized cannot be covered.
  • The same project cannot be supported by Première Ovation and the Entente de développement culturel of the City of Québec and the Ministère de la culture et des communications.
  • Projects supported under the Entente de développement culturel cannot be submitted to Première Ovation – Musique.

Selection criteria

  • Artistic quality, interest and relevance of the project, including creation, innovation, musical development, coherence and positioning in the music scene — 30 points
  • Contribution to professionalization, including previous achievements, support for young artists, host structure quality, professional accompaniment in creation residencies, professional network, self-training value, skills development and autonomy — 30 points
  • Community impact and expected reach, including audience development efforts and media coverage — 15 points
  • Feasibility and realism of the budget, including a balanced budget and a relevant timeline or work plan — 25 points

How to apply

  • Complete the online form and the Budget and Annexes A B.
  • Send the completed application and required documents by email to depot.pom@amplidequebec.com.
  • Submit the final report once the project is completed.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are evaluated by an independent committee made up of three people from the field.
  • No amount is confirmed before Annex A is analyzed.
  • 70% is paid when Annex A is complete and the applicant accepts the subsidy and related conditions.
  • 30% is paid after the final report is filed and accepted by the selection committee, and the last payment is issued no later than 8 weeks after the report is filed.
