  • A curriculum vitae with the required artist details; if applicable, the CV and letter of intent of the mentor or training lead.
  • A video of up to five minutes when it is considered relevant to the jury's analysis.
  • Supporting documents for joint CALQ or CAC requests or diversified financing, plus quotes, supplier rate charts, or support letters for rental or equipment costs, professional collaborators' fees, travel, accommodation, and insurance.

  • Organizations supported by Soutien aux projets des organismes culturels professionnels under the Entente de développement culturel, except for Bons d'emploi.

Eligible expenses

  • Fees for dancers, choreographers, and collaborators, including lighting design, staging, scenography, mentoring, and rehearsal.
  • Professional fees and technical support.
  • Rental of premises or equipment.
  • Costumes, sets, and accessories; transport.
  • Captation and communications costs up to 12% of the budget; administration costs up to 12% of the budget.

Selection criteria

  • Applications are evaluated on merit based on the program objectives, the evaluation criteria, and the quality of the file.
  • Projects are assessed for their relevance to the objectives of the measure.
  • File quality is judged on project clarity, the quality of the argument and French, the artistic approach, budget realism, and schedule realism.
  • Admissible projects with a joint request to CALQ or CAC, or with diversified funding sources, may be favored when supporting documents are attached.

How to apply

  • Complete the relevant application form and the Modèle de budget for the chosen stream.
  • For Bourse de création, Bourse de production et de diffusion, Bourse de commande chorégraphique, and Bons d'emploi, submit on 1 March for a response on 15 April and on 1 October for a response on 15 November; if the date falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next working day.
  • For Bourse de formation and Bourse de rayonnement, applications can be submitted at any time, at least two months before the start of the training or project.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first received and analyzed by the program officer according to admissibility conditions and the program's general objectives.
  • Eligible projects are submitted to a jury made up of representatives of the professional dance community and one person representing the City of Québec.
  • Applications are evaluated on merit based on the program objectives, the evaluation criteria, and the quality of the file.
  • Decisions are final and without appeal.
  • Incomplete files are not retained for analysis.
  • Supported projects must have any changes in content, schedule, or budget approved, and applicants who have already received support from one of the Première Ovation — Danse funds must submit an approved final report before filing a new request, except for a training application submitted during an ongoing project supported under the creation stream.
