Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Canadian citizens or Canadian permanent residents
  • Current undergraduate or Master’s students in any field or discipline
  • Students in a post-graduate Certificate/Diploma program at a Canadian university of at least one full semester’s duration

Who is not eligible

  • Students pursuing or who hold a PhD, Medical, Pharmacy, or Dental degree

  • personal financial benefit at the expense of their community and initiative

  • Innovative nature and design, feasibility, sustainability and impact, and potential scalability

How to apply

  • Applications open annually on September 1st and close on November 1st.
  • Begin your application, connect with references, and access support resources before submitting by the deadline.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed through a multi-stage process that includes detailed rubrics, individual review, contextual research, and collaborative deliberations.
  • Approximately six to seven weeks after submitting an application, candidates will be informed of the status of their candidacy.
  • Up to 20 shortlisted candidates will be invited and funded to attend a two-day Selection process in Montreal.
  • Shortlisted candidates must make themselves available to attend Selection Days.

Additional information

  • There is no fee for applying to the Fellowship.
  • Applications open annually on September 1st and close on November 1st.
  • Successful candidates receive their Fellowship offers via email on February 26, 2027.
  • The program begins on June 21, 2027.
