• Ontario municipalities
• Not-for-profit organizations
• Indigenous organizations and First Nation, Métis, or Inuit communities

Who is not eligible

• For-profit organizations
• Professional sport events
• Charity events or fundraising activities
• Applicants asking Ontario to cover deficit or revenue guarantees

Eligible expenses

• Event operating expenses and revenues shown in the project budget.
• Direct legacy-plan expenses included in the event budget.
• Eligible government funding request as part of the overall event budget.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Formal support request costs.
• Bid costs.
• Commission payments for sponsorships or in-kind contributions.
• Athlete appearance fees.
• Gifts, gratuities, alcohol, cannabis-related products, insurance, and audits.
• HST and refundable expenses.
• Costs tied to deficit or revenue guarantees.

Eligible geographic areas

• Ontario

• Applications are acknowledged within five business days after the intake deadline.
• Eligible and complete applications are reviewed and scored against the evaluation matrix.
• Applicants are notified of the outcome within 90 days.
• Successful applicants must sign a Province of Ontario funding agreement.
• Funding decisions are final and there is no appeal process.

• Intake I is closed.
• Applications are submitted through Transfer Payment Ontario.
• Successful applicants may need to submit interim reporting.
• The program publishes the names of successful applicants on its webpage.
