Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • For-profit corporations.
  • Co-operative associations.
  • Partnerships.
  • Sole proprietorships.

Who is not eligible

  • Joint ventures.
  • Businesses that do not operate in the Northwest Territories.
  • Businesses without a current business licence or required registration.

Eligible expenses

The Business Incentive Policy (BIP) grant does not specify eligible expenses.


Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Joint ventures cannot be approved as BIP Businesses.
  • Local tender adjustments do not apply to air charter contracts or contracts mainly made up of air charter services.
  • Leases under the Leasing of Improved Real Property Policy are excluded.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete the application form and required appendices

  • Step 3: Submit the application to the regional ITI office

    • The application is reviewed by the appropriate BIP Qualification Committee.
    • Written notice of the decision is issued.
