To be eligible to apply for the Story Telling Fund, the production company must:
  • be a production company incorporated pursuant to the laws of the Territory of Nunavut or Canada whose primary activity is developing and producing film, television and/or digital media content
  • be in good standing with the relevant Corporate Registry
  • be in good standing with Nunavut Film.

Companies eligible for the Story Telling Fund must be incorporated in the Territory of Nunavut or Canada. The primary activity of these companies should be the development and production of film, television, and/or digital media content.

Step 1: Prepare Eligibility Documents
  • Ensure company or individual meets eligibility criteria.
  • Gather documents proving incorporation and good standing (for companies).
  • Provide proof of residency and industry commitment (for individuals).
  • Verify good standing with Nunavut Film.
Step 2: Develop Project Proposal
  • Outline project goals and objectives.
  • Detail project activities such as scriptwriting, editing, or research.
  • Prepare a budget, eligible for a maximum of $7,500.
  • Include information on whether the project qualifies for additional incentives.
Step 3: Submit Application
  • Complete application form with project details.
  • Attach all requisite documents and proposal.
  • Submit application to Nunavut Film for creative evaluation.
  • Provide additional information if requested by the review committee.
Step 4: Review and Agreement Execution
  • Await review by the Independent Review Committee.
  • Respond promptly to any requests for additional information.
  • Upon approval, sign the Contribution Agreement.
Step 5: Funding Disbursement
  • Receive 75% of the grant upon execution of the Contribution Agreement.
  • Complete the project and submit final deliverables and accounting.
  • Receive the remaining 25% of the grant upon approval of final submission.
