Who is eligible?
- Canadian companies or subsidiaries that are post-secondary education institutions, Indigenous organizations or associations, small- or medium-sized enterprises with less than 500 employees, large corporations with more than 500 employees, NGOs, not-for-profit organizations, municipal or local governments, or provincial or territorial governments, institutions, agencies or Crown corporations.

Selection criteria
- Alignment with the STIP-Green Jobs program objectives to enhance employability, advance Canada’s climate change goals, and integrate sustainable development principles within natural resources sectors.
- Creation of employment opportunities for youth furthest from employment, especially Indigenous youth, youth living with disabilities, and youth in Northern or remote communities.
- Strength of the position and its alignment with a natural resources sector such as earth sciences, energy including clean energy, forestry, or mining.
- Fair disbursement of funds across natural resources sectors and across Canada.
- Strength of the position and its alignment with the SDGs.
Processing and Agreement
- The Career Launcher team reviews applications on an ongoing basis.
- Employers are notified of their application status approximately 2-3 weeks after submission.
- Pre-approved employers have approximately 2 weeks to complete the remainder of the application process if an intern is selected, or 5 weeks to recruit an intern and 2 weeks to complete the rest of the process if recruitment is required.
- Once the agreement is signed, the request moves to active internship status and the employer gains access to the mid-stage report and payment documents.
- Ten days before the mid-stage, employers receive an email reminder to log in and complete the required documents.
