Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a national women’s rights organization in Canada.
  • The organization’s work must advance gender equality in at least one priority area (Justice, Leadership, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, or Gender-Based Violence).
  • The proposal must focus on strengthening lasting organizational capacity rather than short-term program delivery.

How to apply

Confirm alignment

  • Review the grant’s purpose (capacity building for national women’s rights organizations)
  • Confirm your work aligns with at least one priority area: Justice, Leadership, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, or Gender-Based Violence

Submit eligibility questionnaire

  • Complete the online eligibility screening questionnaire
  • Submit by February 16 at 11:59 PM EST

Receive eligibility decision

  • Wait 2–3 business days for notification
  • If eligible, receive an invitation and the full application package

Prepare full application

  • Prepare the full application using the provided application package
  • Ensure proposed activities focus on lasting organizational capacity (not short-term program delivery)

Submit full application

  • Submit the full application by February 19 at 4:00 PM EST
  • Note that time available depends on when the screening questionnaire was submitted

Processing and Agreement

  • After submitting the eligibility screening questionnaire, organizations are notified within 2–3 business days whether they are invited to submit a full application.

Additional information

  • At least 30 organizations are expected to be funded.
  • Successful applicants may receive less than the amount requested, based on organizational need, scope, and proposed activities.
  • Eligible project period runs from March 2026 to March 2027.
