Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Registered non-profit societies

  • For-profit businesses

Eligible expenses

  • Admin Fee (up to 15% of total budget requested)
  • Minor Capital projects and purchases
  • Fundraisers that can clearly demonstrate the allocation of cost towards organizing a community project or event, rather than simply directing funds to another organization

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • For-profit business activities
  • Ongoing operational expenses
  • Projects that have already taken place
  • Duplicate projects or events
  • Research, travel, professional development, City property taxes, and school property capital improvements
  • Regular sports activities and tournaments
  • Additional rental fee support for City-owned facilities

Selection criteria

  • Applications are reviewed using a scoring matrix based on overall alignment with the grant criteria and eligibility requirements.

How to apply

    • Use society or organization contact information, not personal information.
  • Step 2: Prepare the application

    • Gather project details and supporting funding information.
  • Step 3: Submit online
    • Log in to the portal and complete the application form.
    • Submit the application before the intake deadline.
  • Step 4: Check results and follow up
    • Monitor your application status in the portal.
    • Watch for the decision email after the review period.

Processing and Agreement

  • Within 4-6 weeks after grant deadline, notification of both successful and unsuccessful applicants is sent to the email address provided on the application form and cheque sent out to the mailing address provided on your organizations profile.
  • An evaluation report is required 30 days after project completion.
  • Reporting is completed through the on-line portal.
  • For a myPG Community Grant received in Spring 2024 or earlier, please email communitygrants@princegeorge.ca.
