Selection criteria
- Alignment with York Region Vision 2051 and the Official Plan.
- Compliance with Regional design and safety standards.
- Support from local Council and related studies or plans.
- Review by the Streetscape Review Team using Regional policies and guidelines.
How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare the preliminary design submission
- Develop the proposed streetscape design.
- Include the letter of commitment for maintenance obligations.
- Step 2: Submit by the application deadline
- Send the preliminary and final design submissions before 4:30 p.m. on the deadline.
- Late submissions are only considered in exceptional circumstances.
- Step 3: Complete required follow-up documents
- Submit the signed Maintenance Agreement at the Final Design Submission stage.
- Provide evidence of Council approval and local Council-endorsed supporting documents.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by the Streetscape Review Team.
- Regional staff evaluate proposals using Regional plans, policies, guidelines, design, and safety standards.
- The Commissioner, Transportation Services gives final approval and releases funds for approved proposals.
- Applicants must follow any agreements made as a condition of approval.

- Applications are subject to available funding.
- Approved funding must be used within three years of the award date.
- Late submissions are only considered in exceptional circumstances.
