Eligibility criteria of the First Nations Land Management program

- Contact the First Nations Land Management Resource Centre or ISC Regional Office for more information
- Gather necessary details to initiate the expression of interest

Submit Band Council Resolution
- Submit a Band Council Resolution to the First Nations Land Management Resource Centre
- Request to become a signatory to the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management

Review and Recommendation
- The Resource Centre reviews the submission
- The Resource Centre provides a recommendation for entry to ISC based on the review

Sign Adhesion Document
- Receive a joint welcome letter from the Lands Advisory Board and ISC
- Sign the adhesion document to become a signatory to the Framework Agreement

Undertake Developmental Phase
- Enter the developmental phase, including drafting a land code and developing an individual agreement with Canada
- Conduct community consultations and hold a ratification vote
- Natural Resources Canada provides a description of the lands under management
