Overview
The Financial Support Program for Community Daycare Activities (Component 1) provides government funding (maximum amount not specified) to support community organizations in offering regular, temporary and occasional community daycare (CDCA) activities that are accessory and complementary to their family-focused mission. Eligible activities include short-term child care for parental respite or emergency support, child socialization opportunities, and enabling families to participate in the organization’s or partners’ activities.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a community action organization whose mission is to offer activities or services to families (other than childcare services).
- The proposed activities must be community daycare (CDCA) activities that are incidental to the organization’s mission.
- The CDCA activities must provide temporary and occasional childcare.
- The CDCA activities must support families by offering parental respite and/or short-term relief (backup care) and facilitate family participation in the organization’s activities or those of its partners.

- Community action organizations whose mission is to offer activities or services to families (other than childcare)
Who is not eligible
- For-profit businesses (the program is intended for community action organizations).
- Organizations whose primary mission is providing child care services (i.e., organizations mainly focused on child care rather than other family services).

- All administrative regions of Quebec.

Complete annual reporting
- If funded under Component 1, submit an annual progress report to the Ministère de la Famille
- Complete the annual accountability reporting as required
Processing and Agreement
- After receiving support (component 1), the organization must submit an annual progress report and an accountability report to the Ministry of Families.
Additional information
- Community daycare (CDCA/HGC) is considered occasional child care that is ancillary to the organization’s mission and is distinct from regulated early childhood educational childcare services.
- For Component 1, supported organizations must submit an annual progress report and annual accountability (financial reporting) to the Ministère de la Famille.
- The program is structured in two components: Component 1 supports ongoing CDCA activities, and Component 2 supports one-time projects that complement regular CDCA activities.
