Financial Support Program for Community Daycare Activities – Component 1: Financial Assistance for CDCA Activities

• The applicant must be a community action organization whose mission is to offer activities or services to families (other than childcare services).
• The proposed activities must be community daycare (CDCA) activities that are incidental to the organization’s mission.
• The CDCA activities must provide temporary and occasional childcare.
• The CDCA activities must support families by offering parental respite and/or short-term relief (backup care) and facilitate family participation in the organization’s activities or those of its partners.

Who is eligible?

• Community action organizations whose mission is to offer activities or services to families (other than childcare)

Who is not eligible

• For-profit businesses (the program is intended for community action organizations).
• Organizations whose primary mission is providing child care services (i.e., organizations mainly focused on child care rather than other family services).

Eligible geographic areas

• All administrative regions of Quebec.

• After receiving support (component 1), the organization must submit an annual progress report and an accountability report to the Ministry of Families.

• Community daycare (CDCA/HGC) is considered occasional child care that is ancillary to the organization’s mission and is distinct from regulated early childhood educational childcare services.
• For Component 1, supported organizations must submit an annual progress report and annual accountability (financial reporting) to the Ministère de la Famille.
• The program is structured in two components: Component 1 supports ongoing CDCA activities, and Component 2 supports one-time projects that complement regular CDCA activities.
