Who is eligible?
- Organizations based in Quebec or elsewhere in North America.
Eligible expenses
- Salary for the participant’s internal staff and partners working directly on the project.
- Professional fees required for the project.
- Purchase or rental costs for materials, equipment, supplies.
- Professional fees and costs associated with validation and auditing services.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Production/scrap losses or other losses due to project-related activities.
- Land purchases.
- Unnecessary expenses that cannot be justified under the project, such as salaries for executives or management, or expenses that are not an additional cost to the participant.
- Any other expenses not directly related to the project.

Selection criteria
- Energy impact, including energy savings linked directly to the project, potential energy savings, and the real gain in energy efficiency compared with conventional technology or the current market benchmark.
- Market potential and cost effectiveness, including reproducibility, marketing potential, willingness and ability to promote results, and potential integration into the Énergir Energy Efficiency Plan.
- Degree of innovation, including technological progress, originality, and how rarely the technology, process, or approach appears on the Quebec market.
- Guarantee of realization, including information quality, timeline accuracy, team experience, applicant experience, interest in project results, the applicant’s financial contribution, and financing from other sources.
How to apply
- Contact one of the program’s managers in advance to confirm the eligibility of your project.
- Refer to the Participant’s Guide.
- Once you have reviewed the program requirements and information, fill out the grant application form.
- Provide a project proposal document based on the program requirements so that Énergir can analyze the application.
- The Energy Efficiency team will assess your application and contact you.
Processing and Agreement
- The Energy Efficiency team will assess your application and contact you.
- The committee may refuse a project even if it meets the eligibility criteria.
- Accepted projects will be subject to a contract with Énergir that specifies Énergir’s requirements and the applicant’s deliverables.
- Failure to meet those requirements or deliverables could result in cancellation of the project or a revision of the financial assistance granted.
- Énergir will pay the financial assistance according to contract provisions.
