Overview

The Enbridge Gas Quebec — Cash Incentives – Innovation program offers up to $25,000 or 75% of project costs to support research and demonstration initiatives aimed at improving natural gas efficiency and reducing energy consumption or greenhouse gas emissions. Eligible activities include new approaches, pilot projects, and innovative measures that have the potential for commercialization within the commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors.

Financing terms and conditions

  • Financial assistance of up to $25,000 or 75% of eligible project costs, whichever is lower.
  • Disbursement is made in two equal instalments: the first upon project approval, the second upon project completion and submission of the final report.
  • Invoices for eligible expenses must be issued within 12 months prior to the request for participation and after pre-admission approval.
  • Support is only provided for new expenditures not already covered by other Enbridge Gas Quebec programs.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a commercial, institutional, or industrial customer subject to Rate 1 of Enbridge Gaz Québec.
  • The project must focus on energy efficiency initiatives related to natural gas consumption.
  • The proposed measures must not be eligible for other Enbridge Gaz Québec energy efficiency grant programs, and total financial aid cannot exceed 75% of eligible expenditures.
  • The project must demonstrate a reproducible approach and have potential for energy savings, with at least one aspect of energy performance, profitability, or applicability not yet proven in Quebec.
  • The applicant and its partners must have the capacity to carry out the project effectively.

  • Industrial customers subject to Enbridge Gas Québec Rate 1

  • Companies that are not commercial, institutional, or industrial clients subject to Enbridge Gaz Québec's Tariff 1.
  • Projects that are already eligible for other Enbridge Gaz Québec energy efficiency grant programs.

  • Salaries for internal personnel and project partners directly involved in the project.
  • Professional service fees required for the project.
  • Costs or rental of material, equipment, and supplies specifically for the project.
  • Fees for validation and verification services related to the project.

  • Demonstration of energy savings or greenhouse gas emissions reduction potential.
  • Reproducibility and scalability of the proposed measure.

  • Submit progress reports as required
  • Follow the reporting timeline established with Enbridge Gaz Québec

  • Receive the second instalment of financial assistance once approved
