Enbridge Gas Quebec offers up to $2,500 in financial assistance to support feasibility studies or energy simulations aimed at improving building energy efficiency. Eligible activities include conducting professional feasibility studies or energy simulations using approved tools to identify and plan energy-saving measures for construction or renovation projects.
Financing terms and conditions
- Financial assistance of up to $2,500 to cover part of the costs for preparing a feasibility study or an energy simulation.
- For custom project measures: financial aid of $1 per cubic meter of natural gas saved, with a maximum of 40% of the incremental cost and a cap of $75,000.
- The financial assistance amount and program conditions may be modified without prior notice.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a commercial customer (Tariff 1) of Gazifère/Enbridge Gas Quebec whose primary heating source is natural gas.
- For existing buildings, the feasibility study must be conducted or verified by a professional engineer and focus on measures that achieve natural gas savings (not just upgrading gas appliances or switching energy sources).
- For new buildings, the project must aim to improve the building's energy efficiency by at least 25% compared to the National Energy Code for Buildings.
- Financial assistance is provided only after the activation of the gas meter and inspection of the heating system for new buildings.

- Commercial customers of Gazifère (Gazifère rate 1 clients)
- Companies whose primary source of heating is natural gas
Who is not eligible
- Companies whose principal heating source is not natural gas supplied by Gazifère.
- Businesses applying measures aimed at replacing natural gas with another energy source (for existing buildings).
- Organizations seeking support solely for measures related to the operation or consumption habits that require no investment.
- Projects eligible for financial support under other specific Gazifère high-efficiency equipment programs.
Eligible expenses
- Professional fees for preparing a feasibility study conducted or verified by an engineer.
- Costs incurred for conducting an energy simulation using approved simulation tools (e.g., EE4, CAN-QUEST, DOE2).
Eligible geographic areas
- Businesses located in Quebec served by Gazifère (including Gatineau, Quebec).
Selection criteria
- Compliance of the feasibility study with the required specifications, including thorough descriptions and analyses as outlined in the program guide.
- Preparation or verification of the feasibility study by a professional engineer who is a member of a recognized professional order.
- Demonstration of projected natural gas savings and the associated economic and environmental impacts.
- Completeness and accuracy of documentation, including submission of all required supporting materials.
- Review and approval by Enbridge Gaz Québec and, if applicable, external consultant analysis.

- Gazifère may modify the initiative's conditions and amounts of financial assistance without prior notice.
- Payment of approved assistance is made by cheque, which is mailed to the address provided in the application.
- An external consultant will review the submitted documentation, and a copy of this review is provided to the applicant.
