The application requirements now include a signed program application form, a signed waiver form, itemized paid invoices, confirmation of pre-disconnection wastewater connection, and before-and-after photos with a sketch of the work completed. How to apply

  • Download the Basement Flooding Prevention Subsidy Program application form and waiver form.
  • Submit the completed application form, waiver, and required documentation electronically.
  • Email the completed submission to basementfloodingsubsidy@halton.ca.
  • Upload larger files, such as CCTV video, to the online Dropbox platform if needed.
  • Mail the submission to Halton Region Public Works, c/o Water and Wastewater Program Ambassador, Woodlands Operations Centre, 1179 Bronte Road, Oakville, ON L6M 4G3, or drop it off in person at the main entrance to Halton Regional Centre, 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville.

Processing and Agreement

  • The Region reviews and accepts all required forms and supporting documentation, confirms the work has been completed, and receives a detailed paid invoice evidencing Completed Work.
  • Subject to these requirements, payment is issued within approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks following receipt of a signed waiver form.
  • The Region reserves the right to accept or reject any application or any part thereof.
  • The Region may terminate the program and refuse any or all further applications at any time and for any reason.

Additional information

  • A permit is not required for downspout work
  • Halton Region does not choose contractors, participate in contracts, or resolve disputes between homeowners and contractors
