- The Lithuanian Writers’ Union
- The Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore
- Foreign Lithuanian organizations recognized as a unit or branch of the World Lithuanian Community

- Authors who have already received the prize in the same category within the previous five calendar years
- Works by deceased authors

Selection criteria
- The evaluation committee reviews the submitted works and recommends the laureates.
- The committee may recommend not awarding a category if it considers that no valuable books were submitted.
How to apply
- Submit the application to the Dausų Prize application coordinator between 2026-09-15 and 2026-10-15.
- Include a completed application form.
- Include a recommendation for the prize with a short evaluation of the candidate book.
- Include five copies of the nominated work or an electronic version of the book.
- Include the author’s consent for personal data use, completed in appendix #2.
- Email author and book cover photos in JPG format that may be used freely in print and online.
Processing and Agreement
- Submitted books are not returned.
- The evaluation committee reviews the submitted works and recommends laureates, who are approved by the Canadian Lithuanian Fund.
