Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Accredited American universities and colleges offering four-year programs
  • Research institutes organizing conferences on the targeted themes

Who is not eligible

  • Organizations that are not accredited American universities, colleges, or research institutes
  • Institutions that do not offer four-year programs, when applying as a university or college

Eligible expenses

  • Economy round-trip airfare between Québec and the United States for the guest speaker or artist
  • Local transportation in the United States, honorarium up to USD 2,000, and daily subsistence allowances for up to 7 days
  • Costs for producing, organizing, promoting, publishing, or distributing the project results
  • Equipment or venue rental

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Regular operating costs of an institution and staff remuneration
  • Costs already funded by another government program for the same expense
  • First-class airfare and excess baggage fees
  • Travel and daily allowances outside the American territory where the project takes place
  • General overhead and administrative costs

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed against the program themes and stated objectives
  • Selected projects must sign a letter of agreement or a grant agreement
  • Funding is paid in installments after the agreement is signed
  • The final report is reviewed before the last payment is released
  • Late submission of the final report may cancel the second installment

  • Applications must fit within one of the two program components.
  • Projects must address one or more of the targeted themes.
  • A grant agreement is required for projects of CAD 10,000 or more.
