Who is eligible?
- Registered non-profit organizations.
- Registered charities.
- Community-based organizations in Nova Scotia.
Who is not eligible
- Municipalities, schools, post-secondary institutions, and hospitals.
- Public bodies and other levels of government.
- Projects that have already received a Community Network Grant in previous years.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Fundraising events or revenue-generating activities.
- Operating expenses such as existing staff salaries, heat, and rent.
- Major building development or major equipment purchases.
- Projects mainly focused on employment.
- Costs incurred before the application deadline.
- Cultural events not clearly linked to the program objectives.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by OEA and a committee of representatives from other government departments.
- Applications are assessed against the eligibility requirements and selection criteria.
- If funded, the organization must submit a final report, including financial reporting, within 30 days of the project end date.
- Funded organizations must register and contribute to OEA's Community Network Site.
- Funding recipients are subject to provincial audit and record-retention requirements.
