  • Projects using CO2 for non-permanent utilization, such as fuels or greenhouses.
  • Federal government internal operations and asset purchases.

Eligible expenses

  • Salaries and benefits for employees working on the project.
  • Professional, technical, scientific, and contracting services.
  • Travel, meals, and accommodation linked to project activities.
  • Training, workshops, testing services, and project-related supplies.
  • Overhead costs directly related to the project, up to 15% of eligible expenditures.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Costs outside the eligible expenditure period.
  • Overhead above the 15% cap.
  • In-kind costs for reimbursement.
  • Reimbursable federal and provincial taxes.
  • Projects or uses involving enhanced oil recovery, non-permanent carbon utilization, or federal government internal operations and asset purchases.

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received.
  • EOIs are reviewed by a Technical Review Committee and may lead to an invitation to the FPP phase.

  • Selected applicants undergo financial, technical, legal, and regulatory due diligence.
  • Successful applicants are invited to sign a contribution agreement before funding is committed.
