How to apply

  • Step 1: Book a pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation
    • Contact a service organization registered with NRCan.
    • Have an energy advisor assess the home and provide recommendations.
  • Step 2: Complete eligible retrofits
    • Carry out the recommended energy-efficiency upgrades.
    • Keep all paid receipts and invoices.
  • Step 3: Book the post-retrofit evaluation
    • Schedule the final EnerGuide evaluation after the upgrades are finished.
    • Ensure the service organization submits the reports to the portal.
  • Step 4: Upload documents and request payment
    • Upload receipts and required supporting documents in the Greener Homes portal.
    • Submit the grant request once all documents are uploaded.
  • Step 5: Confirm and receive the grant
    • Review the funding decision sent by email.
    • Accept payment in the portal and wait for the cheque by mail.
