Eligibility
- The applicant must be a legally constituted business or group of businesses under the laws of the Government of Quebec.
- The applicant can be an organization legally constituted under the laws of the Government of Quebec or Canada, including non-profit organizations, cooperatives, federations, or industrial associations.
- The applicant must conduct production and/or research and development (R&D) activities in Quebec within the forest products industry sector.
Who is eligible?
- Companies or groupings of companies legally established under the laws of the Quebec government
- Organizations legally established under the laws of the Quebec or Canadian government, including non-profits, cooperatives, and industrial federations or associations
Who is not eligible
- Organizations belonging to the public, parapublic, and institutional sectors.
- Companies registered in the Register of Ineligible Enterprises for Public Contracts (RENA) and those in default of obligations to the Government of Quebec.
Eligible expenses
- Salaries directly linked to R&D, production, and pre-commercialization for employees residing in Quebec.
- Professional fees for specialists and expert consultants.
- Costs from companies or organizations acting as subcontractors, including public research institutes (universities, CCTT, government research centers).
- Essential travel and accommodation expenses for project completion.
- Materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Expenses for knowledge dissemination platforms and project results.
- Expenses for obtaining and protecting intellectual property.
- Certification and homologation fees required for commercialization.
- Costs for preparing commercialization, demonstration, or technology showcase plans.
- Market test costs.
- Outreach costs for recruiting a commercialization agent.
- Costs related to developing a distribution network.
- Direct costs for promotional documents.
- Registration fees for exhibitions and trade shows.
- Implementation costs for a commercialization plan.
- Costs reimbursed to users for conducting promotional and demonstration activities on-site.
- Production costs for external audit reports validating all eligible expenses incurred and paid.
- Costs for purchasing or conducting various studies aimed at commercialization (feasibility studies, market studies, opportunity studies).
- CRIBIQ management fees (8.5% of the total contribution from CRIBIQ).
- Techno-economic and/or feasibility studies.
- Administration and operation costs for research and development (R&D).

How to apply

Validate the project's eligibility
- Contact Patrick Lavoie, Director of Innovation, to validate the project's eligibility.
- Obtain the required forms for the submission of the application.

Submission of the letter of intent
- Write a letter of intent to briefly explain the project.
- Submit the letter of intent by April 29, 2025.

Preparation of the detailed request
- Write a detailed request including the information required by the submitter's guide.
- Include details on the innovation, commercialization potential, and economic and environmental impacts.

Submission of the detailed request
- Submit the detailed application by June 11, 2025.
- Ensure that all mandatory documentation is complete and accurate.
Additional information
- The CRIBIQ charges management fees amounting to 8.5% of the total CRIBIQ contribution.
- The private contribution from companies must cover at least 25% of eligible expenses.
- The maximum cumulative public aid for the project is up to 75% of the total project cost, including tax credits and other financial sources from both Quebec and Canadian governments, as well as municipal entities.
