The program provides up to $2 million annually for eligible projects that increase consumer awareness and sales of BC products.
Buy BC Partnership Program Overview:
The Buy BC Partnership Program is a vital component of the Buy BC marketing initiative aimed at boosting the visibility and demand for local agricultural products in British Columbia. This cost-shared funding program offers financial support to primary agriculture producers, processors, and cooperatives, as well as industry associations, boards, and councils to conduct local marketing activities that enhance the market presence of BC products.
Eligible applicants for the program must have a presence in BC, hold a valid Buy BC logo license, and meet specified revenue criteria. Funding is available for various marketing activities such as paid advertising, labeling products with the Buy BC logo, developing marketing collateral, participating in sales expositions, conducting in-store promotions, and covering staff wages directly related to project implementation.
The funding limits vary based on the applicant type, with producers, processors, and cooperatives eligible for up to $30,000 per year, and industry associations, boards, and councils able to access a maximum of $75,000 annually. The program timelines include specific intake periods for applications, followed by review and project implementation stages with a detailed breakdown of anticipated timelines for each phase.
Applicants are required to submit a detailed application outlining their project and activities, which will be assessed based on merit to allocate funding to projects that align best with the program's criteria. The Buy BC Partnership Program serves as a key resource for local businesses looking to enhance their marketing efforts, increase consumer awareness, and drive sales of BC agricultural, food, and beverage products across the province.
