How to apply

  • Step 1: Obtain the application form from the Township office or online.
  • Step 2: Complete the application form and include all required information.
  • Step 3: If you are a tenant, attach a letter of support from the property owner.
  • Step 4: Submit the application for review before starting any work or purchasing materials.
  • Step 5: If approved, complete the project and provide proof of eligible expenses to receive funding.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the Downtown Improvement Grant Committee at the Township.
  • Applications are assessed against eligibility, timing, project suitability, funding balance, and the applicant’s ability to carry out the project.
  • If approved, funds are released after the project is completed and eligible expenses are proven.

  • If the Spruce the Bruce grant program is open, applicants should apply there first and will be automatically enrolled in this program.
  • Program terms and administrative procedures may be changed by the Township of Huron-Kinloss.
  • The Township may discontinue, suspend, cancel, or reduce program funding.
