Selection criteria

  • Projects are discussed and selected by the ALUS Montérégie committee based on program objectives.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Submit Declaration of Interest
    • Complete the ALUS Montérégie registration form (declaration of interest).
    • Provide basic information about the farm and its activities.
    • Send the completed declaration to the program coordinators.
  • Step 2: Project Review and Decision
    • The ALUS Montérégie committee meets to review and discuss submitted project proposals.
    • The committee selects projects that align with program objectives.
    • A letter is sent to the applicant communicating the decision.
  • Step 3: On-site Validation
    • If approved, an agri-environment officer contacts the producer.
    • The officer visits the property to validate and confirm the project details.
  • Step 4: Sign Agreement and Launch Project
    • The participant signs a formal agreement with the program.
    • Project implementation can begin once the agreement is signed.

Processing and Agreement

  • Submitted declarations of interest are reviewed by the ALUS Montérégie committee.
  • Applicants receive a letter informing them whether their project has been selected.
  • If selected, an agri-environment officer visits the farm to validate and confirm the project implementation.
  • Participants must sign an agreement before the project can begin.

Additional information

  • Participants receive technical support from agri-environment advisors of the Montérégie UPA Federation.
  • The program has supported ecosystem services projects in 14 RCMs of Montérégie and the Longueuil agglomeration.
  • Over 219 farms and 184 hectares have been engaged in ecosystem services projects since 2016.
  • Participants may showcase their projects through awareness signage and knowledge-transfer events.
