How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare the letter of intent
    • Complete the Alliance Quantum grants LOI template.
    • Prepare the personal data form with CCV attachment for the applicant and co-applicants.
  • Step 2: Submit the letter of intent
    • Log in to NSERC’s online system.
    • Create a new Form 101 and select the Quantum technology development and adoption call.
    • Submit the LOI before the deadline.
  • Step 3: Prepare the full application
    • If the LOI is accepted, complete the full Form 101 application in NSERC’s system.
    • Complete the proposal template and required supporting forms.
    • Submit risk assessment and STRAC attestation forms when required.
  • Step 4: Submit the full application
    • Upload all required documents through NSERC’s online system.
    • Submit the application before the full application deadline.

Processing and Agreement

  • NSERC first completes an administrative assessment of the full application.
  • Applications then undergo peer review and merit assessment.
  • National security risk assessment may apply for private-sector partnerships.
  • Funding decisions are made competitively, based on merit and risk assessment where applicable.
  • If approved, an award letter is issued with the grant terms and conditions.
