Overview

AgroPerformance – Stream 2 offers up to $50,000 per applicant in government funding to help Quebec farm operations and CUMAs acquire priority agricultural equipment. Eligible activities include projects related to the applicant’s farming operations that involve the purchase and adoption of equipment listed as “priority equipment,” with minimum eligible expenditures of $5,000.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be either a farm operation in at least one of the eligible agricultural sectors or a cooperative for the use of agricultural equipment (CUMA).
  • The project must relate directly to the applicant’s agricultural activities.
  • The project must involve adopting at least one priority piece of equipment listed as eligible under Stream 2.
  • If the applicant is a CUMA, the project must concern an activity branch serving at least three farm operations.

  • Agricultural operations in one or more eligible agricultural sectors (for Stream 2)
  • Agricultural machinery use cooperatives (CUMA) located in Quebec

  • Expenses related to the acquisition of at least one priority equipment listed in the official list of eligible priority equipment for Component 2.

Selection criteria

  • The ministry (MAPAQ) may limit the number of selected applications in order to respect the available budget envelope and funding amounts.
  • MAPAQ reserves the right to close the application intake period without prior notice based on budget availability.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Check application period and deadlines
    • Verify that the current intake period for the AgroPerformance Initiative is open.
    • Note that the next intake period is scheduled to begin on 12 January 2026 at 9:00 a.m. and end on 31 January 2026, or earlier if the available budget is exhausted.
  • Step 2: Review program documentation
    • Consult the full text of the AgroPerformance Initiative to understand all applicable rules and conditions.
    • Review the information on financial assistance, including maximum funding rates and overall funding caps per applicant.
  • Step 3: Define your project and eligible expenses
    • Design your project so that it relates to your agricultural activities and fits within Stream 2 (support for specific agricultural sectors in adopting priority equipment).
    • Ensure the project includes the adoption of at least one priority piece of equipment listed in the document “Liste des équipements prioritaires admissibles – Volet 2”.
    • Plan a project end date no later than 15 February 2027.
    • Ensure that your project plan includes eligible expenses of at least $5,000 at the time of submitting the complete funding application.
  • Step 4: Contact MAPAQ regional office for information and support
    • Reach out to your regional MAPAQ office for information or guidance regarding the program and the application process.
    • Use the contact details provided under “Coordonnées des directions régionales du MAPAQ” to communicate with the appropriate regional direction.
  • Step 5: Complete the financial assistance application form
    • Fill out the official financial assistance application form for the AgroPerformance Initiative with accurate information about your organization and project.
    • Ensure that the information you provide is consistent with your file at the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ), as these records are used to verify certain eligibility criteria.
    • Be prepared to supply additional documents if MAPAQ requires them to verify the information in your application.
  • Step 6: Submit the complete application within the intake period
    • Assemble the complete application, including the filled-out funding application form and any required supporting documentation about your project and planned expenses.
    • Submit your application to MAPAQ within the prescribed intake period (from 12 January 2026 at 9:00 a.m. to 31 January 2026 or until funds are exhausted).
    • Respect any specific submission instructions provided by MAPAQ (channel and format are not specified in the available information).

  • All amounts paid under this Initiative are cumulatively counted toward the applicant’s maximum assistance limit.
  • Applicants may request a review of an evaluation decision within 30 business days of the date on which the decision was communicated, by completing the official review request form.
