Agricultural Water Management Fund: Major Program Updates for 2026-27
The Agricultural Water Management Fund has transitioned from the 2025-26 program year to 2026-27, introducing significant process and timeline changes. Most notably, pre-approval is now required for all four funding streams, whereas previously the On-Farm Qualified Persons and Mediation Services Support streams did not require pre-approval. Application intake windows have also been extended: On-Farm and Mediation streams now run from April 1 to August 31, 2026 (previously to February 15), and Technical and Mitigation streams run from April 1 to May 15, 2026 (previously only one month). Additionally, the eligible mitigation works list for the Mitigation and Rehabilitation Construction Support stream has been narrowed. Small dams and ditch construction are no longer listed as eligible mitigation works under Stream 4. The application form has been updated to the 2026 version. Funding amounts remain unchanged at up to $25,000 for combined On-Farm and Mediation support, $50,000 for Technica
