- Step 2: Prepare Application Materials
- Complete the project application form thoroughly, providing all required information on project activities, objectives, expected results, and detailed budgets.
- Compile and attach all supporting documents as required by the application guide.
- Step 3: Identify Funding Sources
- Clearly indicate all sources of funding for the project, including your contribution and any other industry or partner funding.
- Step 4: Submit Application
- Follow the instructions in the Applicant Guide for submitting your completed application form and supporting documents to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC).
- Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until November 30, 2024, or until funding is fully committed.
- Step 5: Acknowledgement of Receipt
- Receive an acknowledgement notice from AAFC confirming that your application has been received.
- Do not consider your application officially submitted until you have received this notice.
- Step 6: Application Assessment
- AAFC reviews your application for completeness and eligibility.
- A full assessment of the project against program criteria is conducted, and AAFC may request additional information.
- Step 7: Funding Decision and Agreement
- If approved, a program officer will contact you to discuss project details, funding levels, and terms.
- Negotiate and enter into a Contribution Agreement with AAFC.
Additional information
- Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until November 30, 2024, or until funds are fully committed, with the program ending March 31, 2025.
- For Quebec-based applicants, compliance with the province's M-30 Act is required and must be demonstrated during project assessment.
- Intellectual property for materials developed under the funding will generally vest in the applicant, but the government may require a non-exclusive licence for administrative purposes.
- Receipt of your application will be acknowledged within one business day, and assessment and notification of approval or rejection typically occur within 100 business days of a complete application.
