Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Students who identify as members of the Black community.
- Students who reside in Quebec and study at a postsecondary institution in any Canadian province or territory.
- Students who reside in another Canadian province or territory and are enrolled in a postsecondary institution in Quebec.
Who is not eligible
- Children, grandchildren, siblings, or other immediate family members of current administrators or officers of the Fund.
- People who have submitted fraudulent or falsified application documents.
- People who are not in good standing with any postsecondary institution they have attended.
- People who do not meet all mandatory eligibility conditions.
Selection criteria
- Community involvement is assessed by its extent, depth, and impact.
- For the Fondation Famille Pineau scholarship, preference is given to students in computing, computer engineering, neuroscience, software engineering, and statistics/mathematics.
- For the Beiersdorf scholarship, preference is given to students who embody Care, Simplicity, Courage, and Confidence.
How to apply
- Review the scholarship criteria and guidelines first.
- Complete the official online scholarship application form and the scholarship checklist.
- Submit the application form and checklist by email to scholarships@basfund.ca or bourses@basfund.ca, or by mail to P.O. Box.
- Make sure the checklist is dated and signed when you submit your application.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications must be received by 30 June at 23:59 ET each year.
- Late applications are only considered if the applicant has obtained a written extension for exceptional circumstances or if the committee determines the delay was beyond the applicant’s control.
- For incomplete applications, the Fund informs the applicant of the missing items and allows time to submit them before the deadline.
- If the missing items are not received before the deadline, the application is not considered.
