The office manages scholarship programs, fellowships, and funding opportunities for thesis-based and course-based graduate students across all disciplines. View University of Calgary Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS)'s website for more information.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) serves as the central administrative body for graduate student funding at the University of Calgary. With over $40 million in annual funding management, FGS coordinates and administers awards that support students throughout their graduate education journey.
FGS manages a comprehensive portfolio of graduate awards including scholarships, fellowships, and research-based funding. Students can access the Graduate Awards Database to search for eligible awards, check requirements, and find tips for applications. The office supports both thesis-based and course-based graduate programs.
Most thesis-based graduate programs provide funding for students in the first two years of a master's or doctoral program. FGS facilitates access to these funding opportunities and provides information about graduate teaching and research assistantships.
The Faculty also helps students identify highly competitive awards available through external agencies and Canadian and international governments. A listing of external awards organized by subject area helps students find awards matching their research or study area.
Special funding opportunities are available for Indigenous graduate applicants through the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
