Grant and Funding Programs Offered by The Joyce Foundation

The Joyce Family Foundation is a private family foundation that plays a significant role in supporting Canadian children and youth through educational access. Founded by Ronald V. Joyce, the co-founder of Tim Hortons, the Foundation focuses on empowering young Canadians to become healthy, confident, and independent contributors to society.

The Foundation operates two main funding streams: Grants for registered Canadian charities within its mandate, and Bursaries for post-secondary students. Grant applications are accepted through a Letter of Intent process submitted to grants@joycefamilyfoundation.com. The Foundation does not fund individuals directly, emergency or deficit operational funding, arts, religious activities, or capital construction projects.

The Foundation endows needs-based bursaries for students enrolled full-time at Canadian colleges and universities. Priority is given to disadvantaged or at-risk youth who face barriers to post-secondary education. Bursaries are applied against tuition, fees, and books. The Foundation seeks government-matched endowments wherever possible.
