The Green Offsets Foundation of Canada is a charitable foundation that bridges individual and corporate climate action with tangible decarbonization projects. Unlike traditional grantmakers, it operates through a carbon offset model where donations directly fund zero-emission bus deployment in Canadian communities.
The Foundation specializes in funding zero-emission transit infrastructure, including battery-electric buses and supporting charging infrastructure. It partners with transit authorities and municipalities across Canada to accelerate the transition to low-carbon public transportation.
Each contribution supports measurable climate impact: approximately $800 per tonne of CO₂e reduced, with a full zero-emission bus preventing roughly 1,500 tonnes of CO₂e emissions over its lifetime. The Foundation aims to leverage private donations with other philanthropic, corporate, government, and institutional partners to maximize impact.
Registered as a Canadian charity with the Canada Revenue Agency (Registration No. 78744 3019 RR0001, effective January 20, 2026), the Foundation issues official donation receipts for charitable contributions. Founded by Reaching For Zero Ltd., it operates with transparency in fund allocation toward stated charitable purposes.
