The Gray Family Foundation serves as a private philanthropic organization focused on youth mental health in Prince Edward Island. As a family foundation, it provides discretionary grants to qualified charitable organizations that align with its mission of strengthening community-based mental health resources for Island youth.
The Foundation favours matching and challenge grants to inspire collaboration and shared commitment among funded organizations. While primarily proactive in its funding priorities, the Foundation welcomes applications from qualified charities working in youth mental health.
Since its founding in 2014, the Foundation has supported a wide range of causes including healthcare institutions (Queen Elizabeth Hospital, IWK Health Centre, Prince County Hospital), children's charities, and community organizations. In 2022, the Foundation adopted a focused mandate dedicated specifically to youth mental health across PEI.
Established by Wayne Gray and his family following the sale of Vogue Optical in 2014, the Foundation continues the family's long-standing commitment to giving back to the Island community. The Foundation is supported by the family's other businesses including Fox Meadow Golf Course, Holiday Haven Campground, and H-Line Enterprises.
