The Quebec Youth Secretariat and La Ruche are partners in the Mille et UN Fund, a youth-focused additional funding program that supports projects aimed at young people aged 15 to 29. The fund is built around crowdfunding: eligible campaigns that meet program criteria can receive additional contributions, helping community, entrepreneurial, educational, cultural, environmental, health or civic projects grow beyond what the public campaign raises alone. In the funding ecosystem, this model is useful because it blends public youth-policy objectives with community validation. Project teams must mobilize supporters through La Ruche, while the Secretariat s contribution can double or significantly increase the capital available for implementation. This helps young people and youth-serving organizations test ideas, build audiences, demonstrate demand and launch projects with stronger local buy-in. The partnership also makes government funding more accessible to smaller, emerging initiatives that may not be ready for traditional grant programs.
