Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Paterson Family Foundation Inc.

The Paterson Family Foundation is a private, charitable foundation incorporated under the laws of the Province of Manitoba. It is composed of a Board of Directors that meets twice a year to make decisions on applications received and to deal with other Foundation business. The Foundation serves as a significant philanthropic partner for charitable organizations in the Canadian Prairies, providing financial support to community initiatives in education, health care, religion, social welfare, and youth programs.

Grants are made to charitable, non-profit organizations with major emphasis on projects and programs in the areas of education, health care, religion, social welfare and youth. The Foundation's prime areas of interest are in the Prairie Region of Canada, including Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Grants may not be made to individuals due to government regulations. Organizations which do not possess a registration number from Revenue Canada are also exempt (not eligible).

The Foundation offers multiple scholarship programs at post-secondary institutions including: Paterson Bursaries in Agriculture at University of Saskatchewan ($2,000, 2 awards), The Paterson Bursary at University of Manitoba ($3,050, 2 awards), and various Paterson GlobalFoods awards at Red River College Polytech including programs in Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Architectural Technology, and Trades programs.

The Foundation operates with a Board of Directors that meets twice annually (typically in June and December) to review applications and make funding decisions. The Board includes Andrew B. Paterson (President & Chairman), Hugh L. Ross, Shane M. Paterson (Vice President), and Kaleigh Paterson (Secretary/Treasurer).
