Role of Mission Foi in the Funding Ecosystem
Mission Foi serves as the Canadian arm of the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith, one of the oldest Catholic missionary organizations founded by Pauline Jaricot in 1822. The organization collects donations from Canadians and distributes them to support evangelization projects and missionary activities in the poorest dioceses worldwide.
Types of Funding Supported
The organization funds various initiatives including: church construction in mission territories, pastoral programs and catechesis, health and education projects, peace and reconciliation initiatives, and support for priests and religious workers in developing countries. Funds also support mass stipends for priests in the poorest churches, often their only source of income.
Transparency and Accountability
Mission Foi provides tax receipts for donations and publishes updates on supported projects. The organization works in collaboration with local churches and missionary societies to ensure funds reach intended beneficiaries.
Geographic Reach
With presence in 120 countries across 5 continents, Mission Foi supports projects in some of the most challenging mission environments globally. The Canadian office has supported 52 projects since 2023.
