Microfinance Institution: Empowering Entrepreneurs
Who We Are
Microfinance institutions like Microcrédit Charlevoix support entrepreneurs who have limited or no access to conventional financing. Through flexible loans and personalized support, we help turn business ideas into successful ventures. We offer a pathway that emphasizes developing entrepreneurial skills through individual guidance and group workshops. The loans we provide act as a lever to launch or grow businesses, funded by investments from the local community. Our approach includes validating business ideas and optimizing project structures to maximize the chances of success.
The MicroEntreprendre Network
Microcrédit Charlevoix is a proud member of MicroEntreprendre, a network dedicated to promoting entrepreneurial microcredit as a unique tool for economic development and inclusion in Quebec. With 16 members across 13 regions, the network provides local support and access to microcredit for entrepreneurs looking to build or expand their business.
Our Entrepreneurial Journey
We believe in the potential of every project and value the importance of personal preparation and strategic planning. Our adaptable support formula includes three phases:
- Phase 1: Individual journey focused on the skills, interests, and entrepreneurial qualities of the project leader, with personalized meetings.
- Phase 2: Collective journey with group workshops, peer learning, networking, and business planning.
- Phase 3: Personalized accompaniment and technical assistance for entrepreneurs as they execute their business plans.
Supporting Local Entrepreneurship
Microcredit provides funding through socially responsible investments and community donations, enabling entrepreneurs with limited financial options to realize their business projects. Community members can support Charlevoix entrepreneurs by investing in or volunteering with our organization.
Impact and Success
Since its inception, Microcrédit Charlevoix has facilitated $344,000 in loans, supported over 623 entrepreneurs, organized 52 collective workshops, and capitalized $125,000. Many projects, such as Suroît Aventures, Optimatek Solution, and EPdesign, have thrived thanks to this network of support. Our mission continues: to empower dreams and strengthen local economies through inclusive and innovative microfinance solutions.
