Who We Are
The Lamp Foundation is a non-profit community organization dedicated to supporting education in the Eastern Townships and across Canada. Through financial aid and mentoring, we empower qualified students from all backgrounds, helping them realize their potential and fulfill their ambitions.
Our Mission
Our foundation strives to ease the financial burdens of education for students, particularly those with limited resources or those returning to school as mature students. By offering a wide range of scholarships and bursaries, we aim to foster a new generation of leaders, professionals in health care, and dedicated community members.
Scholarship Programs
Lamp Foundation provides scholarships at multiple educational levels: vocational, college, and university. We offer heritage awards for students demonstrating leadership in their communities, as well as targeted awards such as the Sherbrooke Hospital Foundation bursaries for bilingual students pursuing health care careers and planning to stay in the Eastern Townships.
Addressing Acute Needs
With a generous mandate from the Sherbrooke Hospital Foundation, Lamp Foundation directly addresses critical shortages in the local health sector by financing students who will become much-needed healthcare professionals in the region.
Our History
Since 1973, members of the USFC Sherbrooke & District have been setting aside funds to support students. Officially incorporated as a scholarship foundation in 1993, we became the Lamp Foundation in 2010, continuing our commitment to educational advancement.
Affiliations and Community Connections
Lamp Foundation is affiliated with UFC Sherbrooke & District, part of a broader network of over 100 clubs across Canada. These connections strengthen our resources and expand our reach, further enabling us to support students in meaningful ways.
How to Apply
Scholarships and bursaries are awarded twice a year, in the spring and fall. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the criteria and apply before the deadlines to maximize their chances of receiving support.
