La Fondation Bob Bissonnette : Spreading Joy and Generosity
The Bob Bissonnette Foundation was established in 2018 to honor the memory and generous spirit of Roberto “Bob” Bissonnette. Since its creation, the foundation has dedicated its efforts to supporting young artists and athletes, helping them thrive despite life's obstacles.
Our Mission and Values
At the core of the foundation is a mission to keep Bob’s values alive—generosity, leadership, and boundless energy. The goal is to offer financial or material assistance to young sports and arts enthusiasts, as well as to associations and organizations that foster amateur or competitive pursuits. By doing this, the foundation perpetuates the memory of Bob Bissonnette, the “merchant of happiness,” in every project and smile it inspires.
Recent Achievements and Projects
The foundation’s impact is tangible and wide-reaching. Recently, a $2,000 donation was made to help complete a Dek hockey project in Saint-Nazaire-de-Dorchester—a testament to the dynamism and teamwork of all involved. The foundation also supports local clubs such as “Les Gymnoss” gymnastics club of Trois-Pistoles, providing funds for durable equipment that enable summer camps to flourish year after year.
Since 2018, over $1,000,000 has been distributed to young athletes and artists, highlighting a true commitment to the next generation. Each quarter, the board members meet—often around a simple table in Bob’s parents’ kitchen—to carefully consider 80 to 100 support requests, ensuring transparent and impactful giving.
