FIT highlights the stories of successful innovation, such as the use of technology to connect rural women teachers in Gambia, a country where educational opportunities for girls are extremely limited. Through FIT’s support, projects like these empower women and girls, helping bridge the educational gap.

Funded Innovations

Waterlution (Canada) / Centro das Mulheres do Cabo (Brazil): This project focuses on strengthening the voices of women in water governance in Brazil, enhancing WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) capacities in peri-urban areas.
VIDEA (Canada) / Nyapachuma: Focused on social justice and human rights, this initiative brings together post-secondary students and Elders to address and raise awareness about gender-based violence.
Royal Roads University (Canada) / IMG Consulting (Bolivia): This program is testing fish flour as a source of nutrition in Bolivia, designed by women for women, directly involving female farmers in the process.
