What is FIT?
The Fund for Innovation and Transformation (FIT) is dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) in testing innovative solutions designed to advance gender equality in countries of the Global South. FIT offers an environment where organizations can freely experiment, adapt, and refine their ideas to create impactful change.
Impact Stories
FIT highlights the stories of successful innovation, such as the use of technology to connect rural women teachers in Gambia, a country where educational opportunities for girls are extremely limited. Through FIT’s support, projects like these empower women and girls, helping bridge the educational gap.
Funded Innovations
- Waterlution (Canada) / Centro das Mulheres do Cabo (Brazil): This project focuses on strengthening the voices of women in water governance in Brazil, enhancing WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) capacities in peri-urban areas.
- VIDEA (Canada) / Nyapachuma: Focused on social justice and human rights, this initiative brings together post-secondary students and Elders to address and raise awareness about gender-based violence.
