Fondation SEMBEQ Accelerating the Training of Church Leaders The SEMBEQ Foundation is dedicated to helping Quebec’s French-speaking churches accelerate the development of their current and future leaders. For over twenty years, SEMBEQ has been providing financial support to those pursuing ministry training. What is the SEMBEQ Foundation? The SEMBEQ Foundation’s main mission is to support churches by distributing scholarships to workers and aspiring leaders. These scholarships allow recipients to devote more time to study, making ministry training more accessible and effective. The Origin of the Foundation The Foundation was inspired by Jacques Alexanian, a pioneering missionary in Quebec and former president of the SEMBEQ Seminary from 1973 to 2001. M. Alexanian deeply cared about supporting aspiring students financially during their training. Thanks to his vision, SEMBEQ Foundation was established to meet this important need. The Foundation’s Autonomy Although it originated from the SEMBEQ Seminary, the Foundation is now independently managed by its own Board of Directors, who oversee funds and administration separate from the seminary. Many scholarships have been distributed through SEMBEQ in the past, but the Foundation operates with full autonomy today. Through scholarships and ongoing support, the Foundation continues to fulfill its mission of empowering dedicated workers for the church’s future.
