Fondation René Malo is a family foundation based in Montreal, Quebec, that has been supporting organizations dedicated to children's physical, psychological, and emotional development, as well as arts enrichment for children in the Greater Montreal region since 1996. The foundation also supports Quebecois cinema. Funding requests can be submitted by email, with a maximum grant of $20,000 for first-time applicants. View Fondation René Malo's website for more information.

Founded in 1996 by Marie and René Malo, this family foundation focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of children in the Greater Montreal area. Rather than supporting a large number of organizations, the foundation chooses to work intensively with a smaller number of grantees, providing both financial support and the active involvement of its team.
The foundation primarily supports organizations working in child development (physical, psychological, emotional) and arts enrichment for children. A secondary focus is the promotion of Quebecois cinema.
Funding is primarily directed to organizations located in the Greater Montreal region. Exceptionally, requests from outside this territory may be considered for exceptional projects. The foundation also supports Médecins Sans Frontières for international projects.
Organizations seeking funding must submit their request by email. The foundation requires a detailed letter explaining how the organization aligns with its mission, a description of activities, organizational budget, and annual financial report. Processing time can take up to 3 months. Maximum first-time grant request is $20,000.
The foundation does not support hospitals (except for exceptional projects), vacation camps, schools, community housing organizations, or government-funded bodies. Infrastructure projects are also not supported.
