Fondation Marcelle et Jean Coutu
The Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation (FMJC) is a private family foundation created in 1991. It is dedicated to philanthropic goals by granting its private funds, in the form of financial aid, to projects that benefit people in need, those suffering from illness, those with disabilities, or those facing challenging social conditions.
Our Mission
The FMJC aims to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable in our society, both in Quebec and in developing countries. Inspired by a deep commitment to give back to the community, Mrs. and Mr. Coutu established this family foundation to generate a positive and lasting impact. Through its actions, the FMJC supports both individual and collective empowerment within communities.
Local Involvement
Convinced that "alone we go faster, together we go further," the FMJC prioritizes support for initiatives that promote collaboration. Each year, the foundation assists more than 200 organizations in Quebec, primarily in the fields of health, education, research, and food security. By encouraging coordination and complementarity of actions on the ground, the FMJC strengthens the collective impact of these organizations.
International Involvement
Internationally, the foundation is mainly active in community development projects in Mali and Haiti. Additionally, it supports targeted projects in other African and Latin American countries through partnerships with local and international NGOs. The FMJC's global efforts extend its values of generosity and solidarity far beyond borders.
Important Notice
At present, the FMJC has chosen to maintain its support for the organizations it already helps, while continuing to strengthen its own projects. As a result, new funding requests are not being accepted until further notice. Any updates regarding the donation process will be posted on the foundation's website.
