The Steacie Prize is Canada’s most prestigious early career award, named in honor of Edgar William Richard Steacie, a renowned physical chemist and former President of the National Research Council of Canada. Established in 1963, the Prize is supported by the E.W.R. Steacie Memorial Fund, fueled by the contributions of friends, associates, and former colleagues of Dr. Steacie. Each year, the Steacie Prize is awarded to a young researcher aged 40 or under who has made significant contributions to research in Canada.
