Role of Catapult Canada in the Funding Ecosystem
Catapult Canada serves as a catalytic funding platform established by the Rideau Hall Foundation to channel new resources to community programs across Canada. The organization focuses on building capacity among youth-serving organizations to better support Canadian youth in achieving their learning goals.
Target Audiences and Funding Priorities
Catapult prioritizes funding for organizations serving youth facing multiple and intersecting barriers, including: newcomers to Canada; refugees; youth fleeing violence and/or trauma; youth not in education, employment, or training (NEET Youth); Black youth; Indigenous youth; racialized youth; LGBTQ2s+ youth; youth living in rural or northern areas; disabled youth; and other underserved groups.
Funding Objectives
- Design, build, scale, or evaluate activities related to improving youth learning outcomes
- Address systemic gaps in secondary education completion and post-secondary access
- Learn what works in supporting youth learning opportunities
- Build organizational capacity, leadership, and long-term sustainability
- Foster community engagement and partnership across the sector
- Facilitate knowledge mobilization for improving youth learning outcomes
Community of Practice
All grantees become part of a dynamic community of practice facilitated by Catapult and co-developed with grantees to meet their evolving needs. This ecosystem approach supports peer-to-peer learning, resource sharing, and collaborative problem-solving among youth-serving organizations.
