What else should I know about Black to the Future?

Black to the Future improves the funding ecosystem by investing in the organizational strength of Black-focused, Black-led, and Black-serving organizations. Its Organizational Development Program goes beyond a simple grant by combining capacity-building resources, mentorship, leadership development, learning labs, and community-of-practice connections. This matters because many grassroots and emerging organizations face structural funding barriers even when their community impact is strong: limited administrative capacity, fewer funder relationships, and less access to tailored nonprofit infrastructure. By funding and mentoring the systems behind the work, Black to the Future helps organizations become more resilient, better governed, and more prepared for future grants or partnerships. Its impact is ecosystem-level because it grows the capacity of Black-serving institutions, not only individual projects.
